Porosity Room
|
After a rain, the rain water will evaporate, run over the surface and drain into the Bayou, or seep into the ground.
Soils with high porosity like sand allow more rain water to seep underground and
join an aquifer.
Lafayette gets its drinking water from the Chicot (pr. Chee-coh) Aquifer, a clean and relatively stable aquifer.
